For decades, the La Salle County Junior Livestock Show has been dedicated to supporting the youth of La Salle County involved in 4-H and FFA programs. Our mission is to provide young agriculturalists with opportunities to raise, exhibit, and sell their projects while developing essential life skills such as leadership, financial management, and sportsmanship.
What began in 1973 as a small local fair has grown into a premier event that showcases livestock, shop projects, and commercial heifer competitions. Today, our show features a wide range of projects, including steers, halter heifers, commercial heifers, goats, swine, broilers, and woodworking and metal projects. Through these programs, students gain hands-on experience in animal husbandry, responsibility, and work ethic, preparing them to become future leaders in agriculture and beyond.
Beyond the show, we are committed to premium payouts and project purchases, helping young exhibitors receive financial support for their hard work. Thanks to the dedication of our members, sponsors, and community, we continue to expand opportunities for youth to succeed in agricultural education.
The La Salle County Junior Livestock Show is honored to be part of a rich agricultural legacy, and we take great pride in shaping the next generation of responsible, hardworking, and community-minded citizens. We invite you to join us in celebrating our youth, their projects, and the future of agriculture.
